These are the light ones.

You look at it and think, “I’ll just chuck that in the hatchback.”

Drop a seat.

Shove it in.

Then you try get it back out.

They’re not heavy.

They’re just awkward enough to make you look like you don’t know what you’re doing.

And you only realise that once you’ve already started.

Wall-Mounted Dryers

Very NZ setup.

Up high in the laundry.

Bolted into brackets. Out of the way.

Until it stops working.

Now you’re standing on the washing machine trying to undo bolts without dropping it on your head.

That part?

That’s on you.

We don’t unbolt dryers from walls.

We don’t disconnect electrical either.

Once it’s down, unplugged, and sitting safely on the floor — we’ll take it.

But we’re not climbing up there with tools.

If you’re taking it down yourself, support it properly before you undo anything.

They come down quicker than you expect.

Looks tidy when it’s set up.

And you’ve got to get it down without smashing something.

Heat Pump Dryers – Whole Different Story

This is where people get caught out.

You think it’s just another dryer.

It’s not.

Heat pump dryers are bloody heavy.

Proper heavy.

You grab it expecting the usual light tin box.

Nope.

It doesn’t move the way you thought it would.

Now you’re adjusting your grip mid-lift pretending you meant to do that.

They’re not impossible.

They’re just not the casual one-man lift people assume.
