Rubbish Pickup in Broomfield & Hei Hei – Junk, Mattress & Whiteware Removal
Broomfield and Hei Hei sit right on the edge of Hornby, two busy Christchurch suburbs that have seen a lot of growth over the years. From the family homes around Hei Hei Park to the mix of new and older houses near Buchanans Road, rubbish and junk are always part of the picture.
That’s where Rubbish Pickup NZ comes in. We provide affordable and hassle-free rubbish collection across Broomfield and Hei Hei – whether it’s an old mattress, a broken fridge, a full red bin that the council skipped, or just a pile of garage junk that needs to go.
The best part? You don’t need to call us or wait around for quotes. Simply book online in under 60 seconds and we’ll take care of the rest.
Mattress Removal in Broomfield & Hei Hei
Old mattresses seem to pile up everywhere – tucked behind garages, leaning against fences, or left in spare rooms gathering dust. In Broomfield, we’ve picked up beds from houses off Buchanans Road and Vanguard Drive. In Hei Hei, it’s often family homes near Hei Hei Park or the back streets off Gilberthorpes Road.
Trying to fit a mattress in a car or trailer is nearly impossible. You risk it falling off on Shands Road or Carmen Road, and the dump fees at Metro Place aren’t cheap. With our service, you just book online and leave the mattress where we can get it. If you’d rather, choose our indoor pickup option and we’ll lift it straight from the bedroom.
Whiteware & Appliance Disposal
Fridges, freezers, ovens, and washing machines are heavy, awkward, and not something you want to drag down the driveway. In Hei Hei we often get calls from households near Gilberthorpes School, where old appliances are swapped out for newer models. In Broomfield, new housing developments mean plenty of renovations and upgrades – and plenty of unwanted whiteware.
Instead of straining your back, we’ll remove it for you and recycle it responsibly. Whether it’s a single fridge or a whole kitchen full of appliances after a reno, we’ve got it sorted.
Bin Emptying Services
Both Broomfield and Hei Hei use Christchurch City Council bins – green organics (weekly), yellow recycling (fortnightly), and red rubbish (fortnightly).
But the council doesn’t always take them. If your bin is too full, put out on the wrong day, or tagged for contamination, it’ll be left behind. That’s a real problem if you’re staring at two weeks of overflowing rubbish.
We provide bin emptying in Broomfield and Hei Hei, clearing red, yellow, and green bins when the CCC trucks don’t. We’ve done streets like Awatea Road and Hei Hei Road, where whole rows of houses have had yellow bins skipped after contamination tags. With us, you can get it emptied on your own schedule.
General Junk Removal
Of course, it’s not just mattresses, fridges, or bins. We collect almost anything. Some recent jobs around Hei Hei and Broomfield included:
Clearing garden waste and old timber off driveways near Vanguard Drive
Picking up broken trampolines, bikes, and kids’ play equipment from Hei Hei backyards
Removing couches and recliners from Broomfield homes near Buchanans Road
Collecting boxes of rubbish and moving leftovers from rental properties in Hei Hei
If it’s junk, we’ll take it. All you need to do is book online and leave it where we can grab it.
Local Knowledge: Why Broomfield & Hei Hei Residents Book Us
We’ve worked in these suburbs for years, and we understand the local challenges:
Family-heavy areas: With schools like Gilberthorpes School nearby, families often outgrow furniture and toys quickly.
Older homes + renovations: Many Broomfield homes are being upgraded, generating piles of waste.
Busy lives: People commuting along Carmen Road or working in nearby Hornby don’t have time for multiple dump runs.
That’s why locals love our service: it’s fast, online, and affordable.
DIY vs Booking Us
Some people try the DIY dump run – borrowing a trailer, strapping the load down, driving to Metro Place, waiting in line, then paying dump fees. By the time you’re done, half your Saturday’s gone.
Our customers in Broomfield and Hei Hei have figured out it’s easier to just book us. No trailer hire, no dump queues, no heavy lifting.
Estate Clearances & Bigger Jobs
We also handle larger clear-outs. Broomfield and Hei Hei have a mix of older homes and newer units, and when families downsize or estates need clearing, the volume of junk can be overwhelming.
We’ve done respectful, full-house clearances near Hei Hei Park and in quiet Broomfield cul-de-sacs. From beds and wardrobes to boxes, clothing, and whiteware, we take it all.
