Rubbish Pickup in Islington & Hornby (Christchurch Guide 2025)
If you live in Hornby or Islington, you’ll know how quickly rubbish can build up. From missed CCC bin collections to old beds, couches, and whiteware piling up, dealing with unwanted junk is a hassle. That’s where Rubbish Pickup NZ comes in. We offer a simple, affordable rubbish pickup service across Hornby, Islington, and the surrounding Christchurch suburbs — starting from just $59.
Unlike big skip companies, we don’t leave a massive bin outside your house for a week. You simply book online in under a minute, choose your pickup type (red bin, yellow bin, green bin, mattress, or general junk), and we’ll swing by to collect it.
Why Hornby & Islington Residents Need Rubbish Pickup Services
Hornby is one of Christchurch’s busiest suburbs, home to The Hub Hornby Mall, Dress-Smart Outlet, Mitre 10 Mega, and Hornby Working Men’s Club. With so many rentals, family homes, and businesses, rubbish piles up quickly.
Islington, while smaller, has a mix of residential housing and industrial areas around Waterloo Business Park and Main South Road. These areas generate bulky waste such as pallets, packaging, whiteware, and furniture that the council bins can’t handle.
If you’ve ever had a missed collection day in Hornby or Islington, you’ll know the pain of waiting another two weeks for the CCC truck to come back. Our service fills that gap — we’ll pick up your bin or junk on the same day or next day, without you lifting a finger.

🚫 In places like London, illegal mattress dumping (“fly tipping”) is a massive issue. Tens of thousands of mattresses are dumped on the street each year — costing councils millions of pounds annually in cleanup and enforcement.
We never want that in Christchurch. That’s why we do things right — every single time.
Even in New Zealand, illegal dumping can lead to serious fines. Councils can issue infringement notices of up to $400, and if prosecuted, offenders can face fines up to $30,000 under the Litter Act.
